静かな波の音から始まり、ビーチボーイズを思わせるトロピカルなサウンドが展開される01「somewhen by the sea / balance the balloon」は、夏の思い出をよみがえらせるヴァーチャル・サウンド・トリップ。ピアノ、ドラム、アコーディオン、グロッケン他、様々な楽器を駆使したサウンドは、まるで小さな遊園地が部屋に来たかのよう。曲は冒頭から次第に緩やかなものになってゆき、イタリア映画を思わせる哀愁を交えながら、夢見るような心地よさへと誘ってくれます。

ニック・パーマーのソロ・ユニット、ダイレクターサウンド。当店でもロングセラーを続けるmusetteと同じ、スウェーデンtona serenadからのリリースとなる2010年作です。
